A: Priss Nukem SE is a conversion patch for Duke Nukem 3D. It replaces Duke Nukem with Priss Asagiri from that classic Japanese anime, Bubblegum Crisis. The patch is broken up into two parts. Owners of PC Duke Nukem 3D v1.3d Registered & Shareware need only download the first part. Owners of PC & Mac Duke Nukem 3D Atomic versions require the first and second part. Q: Why did you make a Special Edition? A: When I completed the original Star Wa... ahem, Priss Nukem, there were a lot of loose ends that left me unsatisfied. Most of these were due to technical constraints. Q: Technical constraints? A: Yes. You see, when the original Priss Nukem was made, there were a lot of things that I simply could not do. Priss Nukem was quite a feat because I had to invent a whole lot of new technologies on the fly. As a result, Priss Nukem showed promise but failed to live up to my greatest expectations. However, after completing Return of the Nene, special effects had progressed to the point where it was possible to tell the story of Priss Nukem the way I intended. Q: So what additions did you make to Priss Nukem? A: I don't want to give away all the surprises, but one thing I did was to digitally remaster the ending theme using raw audio feed from the Futureland Vocal Collection 1. In addition, I also added expanded footage that shows more of Mega Tokyo in 2033. Those who are familiar with the OVA series will have a lot of fun running around familiar streets of Mega Tokyo. Q: So what's next? A: Oh I don't know. Return of the Nene is practically complete. All I need to do now is edit it together into one sweet package and release it. However, I may hold on to it to see if I can get any more renders from Kevin Chu. However, he's pretty busy right now with other projects. I'm also kicking around the idea of Linna Strikes Back, but it will take a lot of motivation for me to do that. Only time will tell... o Where to get this patch: * http://www.dim.com/~mackys/bgcnukem.html * http://www.ravensgarage.com/bgcnukem/bgcnukem.html o Minimum System Requirements: * Any version of Duke Nukem 3D (Shareware or Registered; PC or Mac) properly installed on your hard drive. * 486 DX2 IBM or 68040 Macintosh compatible computer with 8 MB of RAM. * 60 Megs of free hard drive space. * Decoding application to open ZIP files. The sabot allows a smaller caliber round to be fired from a weapon whose barrel diameter is much greater than that of the penetrator. Once fired, the sabot slips off (discards) leaving the penetrator to travel with reduced air resistance. UHDU (Ultra Heavy Depleted Uranium) rounds for gravitic sling: With a density 68% greater than lead, UHDU is capable of perforating any armor with ease. The round consists of depleted uranium pellets encased in a hollow polymer casing. Essentially a "hyper-kinetic shotgun" the weapon is most lethal at close range but loses effectiveness with distance due to pellet dispersion. Flechette ammo for railgun: Rounds consist of a 35 cm long needle, or dart. The rounds are cannibalized from 105 mm "Beehive" warheads used in the Polar War. Originally designed as an anti-personnel round, the Beehive airbursts over a designated target, showering the area with a rain of flechettes. The flechettes have been removed individually and modified so that they can be sequentially fired from three gun ports located at the underside of Priss's hardsuit arm. HEJA (High Explosive Jet Assisted) rounds for 30mm gauss cannon: Rounds consist of a micro-explosive warhead propelled by a fast-burning solid rocket propellant engine. The gyrojet engine ignites after the round leaves the cannon, accelerating the warhead towards the target. HEJA rounds are designed for long range combat and will cause substantial damage to the user if detonated at close range. Killer Doll: Manufactured by USSD as an accessory for the Cynthia Unit, the killer doll is disguised as a child's toy and can be detonated by remote control. Using submicron lamellar structuring, the explosives within the killer doll are effectively camouflaged and can not be detected using existing explosive detection devices. Shrinker/Expander ammo for Sting Ray gun: Rounds consist of unstable quantum matter stored in a stasis crystal. Upon striking an organic mass, the quantum matter imparts its inertial reference frame to the target. Depending on whether the quantum matter is monophasic or polyphasic, the target will either shrink (stable for a few seconds) or expand (unstable, i.e., the object explodes). HEAP (High Explosive Armor Piercing) rounds for Eliminator: Rounds are similar to the APDS rounds in that they are made up of a carrier unit and a depleted uranium penetrator. However, HEAP rounds contain a directional explosive charge between the carrier and the penetrator that detonates upon impact, driving the penetrator deeper into the target. Although the majority of the explosive force is concentrated at the target's surface, the reactionary shockwave can damage the user if fired at close range. S-Mine: Using a pressure activated quick setting adhesive, the S- Mine will permanently "stick" to any solid surface. The mine activates after a few seconds and will detonate if any object crosses it's laser sensor. Nitrogen cartridge for the Raven Special: Rounds consist of globules of liquid nitrogen held within an electro-magnetic containment field. Upon striking a target, the containment field bursts, releasing a freezing blast of refrigerant. o File Information: ======================================================================== Title : PRISS1SE.ZIP & PRISS2SE.ZIP (Priss Nukem Special Edition, 15.1 MB) Date Finished : August, 1997 Author : Jason "Unagi" Ng Email Address : ekstrmly@primenet.com Other Files By Author : Nene Nukem 3D, Sylia Warrior (for Shadow Warrior), and Linna Rampage (for Redneck Rampage). Mega Tokyo rose from the rubble of the 2nd Great Kanto Quake into a new era of technology and prosperity. Much of this was spearheaded by the mega-corporation, Genom, who introduced a new tool to rebuild Tokyo, called "Boomers." Boomers were cybernetic humanoid beings which were created to free mankind from menial and hazardous tasks. The world welcomed these Boomers with open arms; cities were rebuilt and Genom prospered. But as wonderful these mechanical dolls were, they also had a dark side. Whether accidental or intentionally, Boomers sometimes went "mad", killing and destroying everything in their path. Special ADvanced Police (ADP) forces were created to subdue these rampages but often found themselves hopelessly outgunned. But then the Knight Sabers appeared. They were a group of four female vigilantes who easily conquered the "Mad Machines" using sophisticated battlesuits and weapons. The Knight Sabers acted as a counter to Genom and held it in check. But Genom had many secrets up its sleeves including the OverMind Control System (OMS) which was the key to controlling the world. At the end of 2033, the OMS system was activated, mutating the world's population of Boomers into an army of hideous monsters. Join Priss as she endeavors to stop Genom's master plan to rule the world! o Also Available From UnagiArts: Nene Nukem 3D: Based upon the PrissN engine, Nene Nukem replaces Duke with Nene Romanova.
