Perforations In My Soul
December 27, 2001
There are perforations
Small rips in my spirit
Lacerations that pull at my essence
Tears that seem to come from no where
My strength comes from within
But seeps out through these holes
I patch them with my will
And I mend them with determination
My dreams seem like visions
An understanding of my illusions
I ignore other's falseness
I go beyond their duplicity
I know others cunning and manipulations
I can sense it and accept it
But the anger trickles out
Through the perforations in my soul.
So I step beyond what is here
And I strive for happiness within
I hope for the fairy tale
Of what dreams are made of
To feel complete and whole
I write with pointed pen
One that slashes the animosity
And places band-aid on my soul.
