Life's Tomorrow

Do we know from whom we borrow?
The results or the sorrow
What we take of each other's souls
The ill effect of such controls

Do we hold each other with no feeling?
Never understanding what we're stealing
Do we poke and prod until we draw pain,
Without the knowledge of how inhumane

Or do we resist the unending torrent?
And stop the flowing current
Push against that rising shore
Or just stop, enjoy and explore

Shall we hold on to this flash in time?
No matter how sublime
Know this is no illusion
That there is to be no conclusion

For with each growth do we not expand?
For we know it is not a demand
But a release of our humanity
As we become more than just an entity

Are we not a reality in each person's mind?
Where we can share our grief and unwind
Believe in love and the devotion
Like the sea and the steadfast ocean

Do we not now share our fears?
And wipe away each other's tears
So we hold on to each other like fragile glass
And dream that no heartbreak will come to pass

For there is no life's tomorrow.
