 Bubblegum Crisis
   BGC!
There has been four different realities for Bubblegum Crisis. The OAV timeline, the Tokyo 2040 timeline, and the A.D. Police timeline. The OAV timeline consisted of 3 anime, Bubblegum Crisis, Bubblegum Crash!, and AD Police Files. The Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 timeline, the A.D. Police timeline and the Parasite Dolls timeline were individual series. I like them all, with the OAV being #1. It's funny too, since some OAV fans don't want to touch the 2040 ones with a 10' pole. Mostly because they changed a _LOT_ for it. Same goes for people who's seen 2040 first. They don't like the OAV because it's "old" and the music is "dated". No one ever really looks at the story, because they are scared of change or they will like it. (Note: I'm not mentioning the ADPTV series, because no one wants to touch it. I can't say I blame them, in comparison to the other two timelines, it's really not that great, but overall it's pretty good for an anime. It' s a little depressing and the animation sucks (it's animation of 10 years ago with now artwork), but it is still good.)

   OAV TIMELINE
As I said above, consisted of 3 animes. It also consisted of a few mangas, novels, radio dramas, etc... Which we wont get into, mostly because I only read the AD Police Files manga and the last two to Bubblegum Crisis: Grand Mal. If you are wondering what their history is from, I got it from the Asu E Touchdown music video from the Hurricane Live set.
  • BUBBLEGUM CRISIS (8 episodes)- This is the story that started it all. It was an 8 episode OAV series set in 2032-2033. The Knight Sabers, the Vigilante/Mercenary group are your main stars. The timeframe takes place in MegaTokyo after it began to rebuild because of the second great Kanto earthquake. GENOM, because it's the leading source for boomers (robots that are designed take menial labor tasks that are difficult for humans), reigns supreme. They practically rule the world. That's where the Knight Sabers step in. They try to maintain the balance of the evil. The team consists of four females in hardsuits (exo-skeleton armor, which increases strength and agility in a normal human by about 10x), Sylia Stingray, Linna Yamazaki, Priss, and Nene Romanova. There are also friends and allies, such as Leon McNichol and Fargo. And then of course there are the boomers and the token badguys. The boomers have a various range of different types, ranging from the menial job ones, where they are using as waiters/maids/etc to combat boomers. There are also boomers designed for sex, which were outlawed due to what they can sync with weapons.
  • BUBBLEGUM CRASH (3 episodes)- This takes place after the original 8 episodes. Designed to finish up the series, it did a bad job at that. It goes into more of the Largo/Sylia issue that really wasn't resolved in the original. It also gives new hardsuits to the four girls and Nene can actually fight.
  • AD POLICE FILES (3 episodes)- This is a prequel to the original series, where the Knight Sabers haven't been formed yet and Leon is just a rookie grunt to the AD Police. It does make you wonder how he survived, with the whole "Extras" thing. It's a good thing to be a core character, is it not? ;) This series goes more into what makes humans, human. Deals with the issues of humans becoming boomers and boomers becoming humans. Quite serious of a series.
